Jonny Evans remains in talks to sign a new Manchester United deal with the club announcing seven players will leave as free agents.
The 36-year-old made a shock switch back to Old Trafford in 2023 on a one-year contract – and played 30 times in all competitions.

He even featured in the FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City, with Erik ten Hag a huge admirer of his professionalism.
And in a statement released by United on Wednesday morning, they have confirmed discussions are taking place to keep him at the club.
It’s the same case for third-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton, who has played in just three fixtures since joining in 2021.
But many of United‘s first-team stars will depart on free transfers including French duo Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane.
Martial joined United from Monaco in 2015 in an initial £36million deal, where he scored on his debut against Liverpool.
But he has struggled with injuries and a decline in form in the last four years, with the 28-year-old scoring just twice during the 2023/24 season.
The forward, who has already penned an emotional goodbye message to fans, finishes his United career with 90 goals in 317 matches.
His fellow Les Bleus international Varane has spent the last three years at the Theatre of Dreams after arriving from Real Madrid in a transfer rising to £42m.

Varane has been dogged by injuries during the recent season, but was a standout player in the FA Cup final – arguably one of his finest performances in a United shirt.
Elsewhere, Left-back Brandon Williams is another that will leave when his contract expires on June 30 having falling down the pecking order in recent campaigns.
Academy striker Charlie McNeill, who cost United £750,000 when they pinched him off City in 2020, is also on his way out having made just one senior appearance.
Fellow academy players Marcus Lawrence and Kie Plumley have also failed to be offered extensions.
Meanwhile ex-Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone will leave his Under 21s player-coach role.
Along with Evans and Heaton, academy graduate Shola Shoretire is also in talks over extending his stay.
And teenage midfielder Omari Forson has been offered a new contract following a breakthrough season which has seen him feature seven times for the first team.
