Gareth Southgate is set to ring the changes on Saturday night for England’s friendly fixture against Brazil.

But they will be without a number of stars, including skipper Harry Kane, while Bukayo Saka has withdrawn from the squad altogether.

The Bayern Munich striker along with the Arsenal winger were absent from Wednesday’s training session, as well as Cole Palmer and Jordan Henderson.

Speaking on Friday, Southgate confirmed the trio’s exclusion, saying: “Tomorrow, no Harry Kane, no Jordan Henderson. No Cole Palmer.

“I would say Cole and Hendo have a better chance of Belgium than Harry. He would be extremely doubtful for that.”

Kane in particular was already a doubt heading into the Brazil match having limped off in Bayern’s 5-2 win over Darmstadt after colliding with the post.

And Southgate could now decide against selecting Kane, Palmer and Henderson in his matchday squad for next week’s clash with Belgium.

A new-look front line will be in force against Brazil, with Manchester United starlet Kobbie Mainoo to potentially be handed his senior debut.

Here talkSPORT.com takes a look at how England could line-up against Brazil at the Home of Football.

Jordan Pickford looks set to start between the sticks with the Everton goalkeeper Southgate’s undisputed No1.

Slotting in at right-back will likely be Kyle Walker, with Ben Chilwell to feature on the opposite side of defence ahead of versatile Liverpool man Joe Gomez.

A centre-back pairing could then consist of John Stones and Harry Maguire, with Jarrad Branthwaite and Ezri Konsa ready and waiting to make their debuts.

Saka’s Arsenal teammate Declan Rice could then be deployed as a lone defensive midfielder.

Real Madrid maestro Jude Bellingham will then slot in as a free-roaming No8, with the 20-year-old enjoying a stunning season so far.

In 31 games in all competitions, he has chipped in with 20 goals and nine assists.

With Henderson and Palmer to be left out, teenager Mainoo could be rewarded with an England debut following his late call-up as the second box-to-box midfielder.

Foden could then replace Saka on the right wing ahead of Jarrod Bowen, with Marcus Rashford to get the nod over Anthony Gordon to feature on the opposite flank.

With Kane unavailable, Aston Villa marksman Ollie Watkins could be preferred over Ivan Toney to lead the line.

Only Erling Haaland has scored more Premier League goals than Watkins this campaign, with the 28-year-old firing in 22 times in all competitions.
