‘They are flying’– Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal likened to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool – but Thierry Henry doubts title chances

Arsenal have been labelled as ‘the best team in the land’ as they continue to obliterate opponents – with Sheffield United their latest victim.

That is the view of ex-Chelsea defender Jason Cundy, who has likened Mikel Arteta‘s men to Liverpool’s 2019/20 Premier League-winning side.

The talkSPORT host has waxed lyrical over the Gunners, insisting they have been in ‘beast mode’ since their warm weather training camp in Dubai in January.

Arsenal went into the mini-break on the back of three consecutive losses, where they looked to have dropped out of the title race as well as being dumped out of the FA Cup.

But they have responded by racking up seven successive top-flight victories, where they have created history by winning by at least five goals in their last three away games.

And talkSPORT host Cundy believes they are playing better football than their title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City, who sit above the north Londoners in the table.

Speaking after Arsenal’s 6-0 win at Bramall Lane on The Sports Bar, he said: “They’re relentless, they’re like a swarm at the minute.

“They swarm all over you, energy, high intensity, goals, creativity. They remind me a little bit of that Liverpool side that won the title under [Jurgen] Klopp.

“Right now, if you had to say to me, ‘Who is the best team in the land right now,?’ it’s Arsenal. They are the best team in the land.”

He added: “They’ve come back [from Dubai] in absolute beast mode and they are flying.”

While fans are beginning to dream of a first league championship since 2004, club legend Thierry Henry has doubted whether they will finally get over the line.

Commenting on Arsenal’s chances during his appearance on Monday Night Football, he remarked: “Look, we all know where my heart will go.

“I want Arsenal to win the league, but I still think City is the team to beat.”

Meanwhile Manchester United icon Gary Neville believes Liverpool have the upper hand over Arsenal in the quest to pip City to the title.

Just two points separate the three clubs in the table, with Liverpool currently in top spot ahead of City and Arsenal.

But Arsenal have the chance to go into the international break in first place should they beat Brentford next and Liverpool and City draw at Anfield on Sunday.

Arsenal have been nothing short of sensational in the Premier League this year
